Medical Homevisits

We have 2 nurses on staff whose sole role is to monitor the health of the children in our program and to advocate for their needs. 1 of the ways that we do this is through Medical homevisits. We have 2 different types:

  1. Regular Medical Home Visit– In which we check the overall health of the child, provide some individualized family education.
  2. Post Hospital/Clinic Visit- These visits are focused on checking on sick kids after they have started to receive treatment. To make sure the child is taking all medications correctly, that the child is getting better not worse, and to answer any questions the family might have. If the child is not doing better the nurse  needs to encourage the parent to take the child back to the doctor.

During both of these visit the nurses also take the time to encourage the family and to do a time of devotions and prayer with them.
